Chief Idea Guy Josh Mishell has 20 years of design and marketing experience in a wide variety of industries. His diverse skill-set allows Fermentable Sugar to be a full-service agency that looks at the big picture before diving into the nitty gritty details of design and marketing.
Before starting Fermentable Sugar, Josh gained significant valuable experience in design and marketing through his previous employment.
At the Creative Manager at Flying Dog Brewery, Josh was responsible for all visual elements of the brand, including a full packaging refresh, all point-of-sale design for distributors, and a full website redesign, and hundreds of other projects both big and small. Through each of these big-ticket jobs he worked with his fellow members of the marketing department to ensure that each of the designs reinforced the brewery’s marketing strategy. Flying Dog grew about 100% in volume while Josh worked there.

As the Creative Director at Tinaglia Advertising, Josh was responsible for all creative elements at this small sports marketing agency with high-profile clients. Work included art direction for the United States Tennis Association on the official poster for the U.S. Open tennis tournament, U.S. Davis Cup and U.S. Fed Cup team posters, and work for numerous PGA golf tournaments.
He was also an Ad and Special Section Designer at the Vail Daily newspaper in Vail, Colorado. Working as an as part of an in-house team, Josh learned the ins and outs of printing; something newer digital designers have far less experience in.
Due to his extensive experience in the design industry, Josh can bridge the gap between print media and digital marketing — it’s so important to maintain a consistent brand experience no matter where your brand is being represented.
